Areas of Research
Musculoskeletal Biomechanics
The long-term goal of our research is to understand the mechanisms underlying skeletal fracture and to use this knowledge to develop preventive measures to improve bone quality and decrease fracture risk. Our research is unique in that it combines biomechanical experimentation with advanced medical imaging and computational modeling, allowing for the assessment of skeletal tissue mechanics in a non-invasive and subject-specific manner.
