Areas of Research

biometric technologies, data analysis and pattern recognition, biometric system design, computational intelligence, image processing
Biometric technologies include techniques, devices and systems for acquisition, processing, analysis and synthesis of biometrics for the following applications: - security (physical access control systems with biometric authentication, biometric devices for user's verification or identification); - monitoring of biometric data in health care systems (non-invasive surveillance-based diagnostics, remote IR (temperature) monitoring); - media systems (interviewing systems, contactless human-machine interface) that use biometrics for analysis of users' behavior. We also focus on synthesis of biometrics for: (a) generating the data for testing the biometric devices; (b) creating the models, such as 3D faces, for improving the recognition algorithms. We perform testing of industrial biometric devices and provide analysis of their performance.
