Electronic Structure and Properties of Molecules and Materials
Our ability to efficiently target health, environmental, and resource challenges, is hampered by our inability to effectively predict chemical properties from first principles. We are getting much better, but we are still far from a time where de novo design of molecules and materials is a routine exercise. My research group seeks to bridge this gap by exploring the relationship between the underlying geometric and electronic structure of molecules and their chemical properties.
