Nowell Fine, MD SM FRCPC
Dr. Fine completed medical school and post-graduate medical residency training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology from Western University. He completed clinical and research fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in the areas of heat failure and and echocardiography. He graduated with a Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at Harvard University. Dr. Fine is a member of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute and Cumming School of Medicine in the Departments of Cardiac Sciences and Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary.Areas of Research

Dr. Fine areas of research including improving risk prediction approaches in patient's with heart failure. Dr. Fine has a focused interest in infiltrative cardiomyopathies, especially cardiac amyloidosis. Dr. Fine also explores the utility of conventional and novel cardiac imaging approaches to guide clinical management and predict outcomes for patients with heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases, and is Medical Director of the Research Echocardiography Laboratory at the University of Calgary.
