Dr. Kibria is interested in heterogeneous catalysis and system design for energy transformation reactions, including electro- /photo-catalysis for CO2 reduction and water splitting for sustainable energy and green environment. His current research interests include: nano-material synthesis for next generation catalysis, Artificial Photosynthesis, CO2 electro-reduction, water oxidation reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysis, oxidative upgrading of low-value feedstocks, device engineering, techno-economic and life cycle analysis etc

Working with this supervisor
1. Recent BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline with a minimum GPA of at least 3.3/4.0 in last two years 2. Demonstrated solid background in electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry, gas and liquid chromatography, nanomaterial synthesis and characterization 3. Proficient verbal and written communication skills (i.e., IELTS brand score 7 or over) as reflected in effective presentations at seminars, meetings and/or teaching lectures 4. Publication of peer-reviewed papers in high-impact scientific journals is an expectation to join Dr. Kibria's group
