Areas of Research
Literatures in Canada
My work is concerned with literatures in Canada, especially since 1967, and questions of political engagement in a wide range of modes. My first book, Transnational Canadas: Anglo-Canadian Literature and Globalization, was published by Wilfrid Laurier University Press in 2009. Since then, I have extended my research through multiple edited books, collaborative projects, and through the non-fiction books Malled: Deciphering Shopping in Canada (Wolsak & Wynn, 2017) and my forthcoming Field Notes on Listening (Wolsak & Wynn). I am currently concerned with questions of land, environment, and posthumanism in literary contexts. I am prepared to work with students in both the critical and creative streams in the Department of English.
