Areas of Research
The research interest in my lab is to investigate the role of Cdk5 and its related protein, Cdk5rap2, in the cell. The specific interests in my lab include: (i) Cdk5 regulation of intracellular Ca2+ release, (ii) the molecular mechanism(s) by which lack of Cdk5 and its associated activity induce synthetic lethality of multiple myeloma and breast cancer cells, (iii) the role of Cdk5rap2 in cell fate regulation: senescence and stemness, (iv) the role of Cdk5 and HO-1 in Alzheimer's disease using APP/PSEN1/HO-1 transgenic mice, and (v) the generation of novel resistance biomarker profiling chips for acute lymphocytic leukemia that stratify patients and tailor personalized chemotherapy.
