Areas of Research
Health Services Research, Health Disparities, Social and Structural Vulnerabilities
My research focuses on understanding and untangling mechanisms of health disparities, using mixed methods. I explore the influence of social status, social networks and support, and structural vulnerabilities on health, particularly during transitions of care. Recognizing the need for a multi-faceted approach to address these social vulnerabilities, I also study the development, implementation, and effectiveness of complex interventions. Examples include patient navigation and innovations for people with lived experience of homelessness that address both their health and housing needs.
