Immunology
Our laboratory studies the very earliest events in the initiation of immune responses. Using high-throughput and super-resolution light microscopy we seek to unravel the complex interplay between cells that sense potential threats and effector cells that are responsible for restoring homeostasis. Our approach has been instrumental in unravelling the biophysical interactions that mediate immunity and is now being applied to study autoimmunity and cancer. Students joining the lab will engage in exciting, highly collaborative work focused on imaging the interaction between innate immune cells (i.e. macrophages and dendritic cells) and effector T cells.
