Please note that, in our faculty, supervisors don't admit students. Instead, students must apply for admission to the Graduate Studies Committee through the University website. So, instead of completing and submitting the form below, qualified and interested persons should apply for admission on the Graduate Studies website: Graduate Studies at the University of Calgary.
I would be happy to supervise outstanding, admitted graduate students in law who are interested in doing research and scholarship in intellectual property law, technology law, or legal theory/legal philosophy.
Intellectual property law includes patent law, trademarks law, copyright law and trade secret law.
Technology law includes topics in information technology, the Internet, artificial intelligence, blockchain, financial technology, biotechnology, emerging technologies, and information security and privacy law.
Legal theory includes topics in analytic legal philosophy and general jurisprudence (e.g., the role and nature of law, the rule of law and theories of interpretation) as well as particular areas, such as constitutional legal theory and intellectual property theory.
