Areas of Research
My research lab at the University of Calgary aims to enhance the patient and family experience for young people diagnosed with cancer and their families. More specifically, I have been focused on the long-term psychological outcomes of survivors of pediatric cancer. Our work focuses on three primary areas of interest including: 1) understanding the burden of symptoms (e.g., pain, sleep) among survivors; 2) mental health (e.g., anxiety, fear of cancer recurrence); and 3) quality of life, primarily within the context of multi-site clinical trials. Our ultimate goal is to enhance the quality of life of this vulnerable population. More information on our work can be found here: www.care4kids.ca
