Control Systems and Robotics
I am interested in applying neural networks in control systems in order to learn and/or adapt to nonlinearities, unknown dynamics, and disturbances. I have applied my methods to flexible-joint robot arms, quadrotor helicopters, wind turbines, boiler systems, organic Rankine cycles, and biological wastewater treatment. I am currently interested in designing a surgical robot for the space station, a project you can read more about on my website.

Working with this supervisor
I am currently looking for graduate students to work on designing a surgical robot for the space station, for both MSc and PhD. I will accept candidates with a strong background in control systems, robot design, and/or robot-assisted surgery.
