Areas of Research
Dr Hemmelgarn is a clinician-scientist with clinical training in nephrology, and a health services research focus in chronic diseases including chronic kidney disease. Her expertise is in the use of administrative and other secondary data sources for health services research. She also has expertise in knowledge translation and specifically in bridging the evidence practice gap in chronic kidney disease and related care in the community. Dr Hemmelgarn has expertise in patient oriented research, patient engagement, and integrated knowledge translation.
