Areas of Research
As the Research Lead within the Office of Postgraduate Medical Education at the Cumming School of Medicine, my study population of interest is that of resident physicians. I am interested in the areas of transitions from medical school to residency and residency into practice. I am also interested in the teaching and assessment of intrinsic CanMEDS roles, professionalism and ethical issues in residency as well as resident wellness.
I am interested in how medical education intersects with health services research, especially how resident physicians interact with patients and deliver patient-centered care. Other areas of interest include patient safety and quality improvement in health care.
