Areas of Research

Brain and Mental Health
Her clinical and research interests focus on schizophrenia and include psychopharmacology, metabolic dysfunction, access and provision of mental and physical health care. Her research interests in mental and physical health extends to elite athletes with a focus on identifying, preventing and mitigating risk factors for poor mental health.
Child Health and Wellness
Dr. Chintoh’s research projects are strongly linked with the new cross-cutting Child Health and Wellness initiative (led by the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute). Her clinical implementation program Healthy Active Recovery in Mental Health & Obesity – Network for Youth (HARMONY), is focused on mitigating obesity and cardiovascular risk factors for youth with mental illness. She is a new collaborator with the Sports Injury Prevention Centre supporting the exploration of mental health outcomes in youth who have experienced mild traumatic brain injuries.
