History Alumni Spotlight: Andrew Varsanyi
After completing my Masters degree, I was hired as a Program Coordinator at Mt. Royal University from 2010-2012 and took a junior management job at Critical Control Energy Services, a publicly listed energy services software company. I was there from 2012-2019 in a variety of roles and spent most of my time building the company's American software business and was back-and-forth to the US on business for about five years. During that time, I also co-founded a software company called Evolved Metrics in 2015. It's a growing Calgary technology company and operates a business analytics platform focused on the management of sales and marketing data. I left Critical Control in October 2019 as Vice President of Operations and joined Arcurve, a Calgary tech company where I presently wear two hats, as US Operations Director and Director of Business Development. I use the skills from my History studies every day at work. Analysis of written information, critical thinking, making arguments. These skills are critical in business.
