Areas of Research
My design-based and case study research focuses on K-12 and post-secondary learning and teaching with technology, including teacher professional learning, with the shift from standardized transmission of content to the design of participatory, knowledge building learning experiences that sponsor intellectual engagement.
Design based and action research on facilitating active and deep learning through the creation, design, use and evaluation of learning processes and systems using technology, and the innovations and changes required in education to sponsor deep learning using technology.
Action, evaluative and case study research in this area includes collaborative design teams for online and blended learning in graduate education, peer mentoring, academic publishing and ethics in online research.
