Cassandra Turcotte

Cassandra Turcotte is an indigenous research scientist interested in the effect of adversity on the skeleton

Areas of Research

Bone and Joint Development
I study variation in the structure of musculoskeletal tissues. I am particularly interested by the impact of lived experience on the development of these structures, specifically how early life adversity may interrupt normal patterns of growth and eventually lead to accelerated senescence. I work with the rhesus macaques of Cayo Santiago to model disease processes in humans. I will accept students who are interested in primate variation or applications to human health.

Supervising degrees
