Biography
My academic interests have drawn me to the world of South Asian Philosophy, with a particular appreciation for Hinduism, and how it intersects with value theory and environmental ethics. My dedication to teaching and learning is woven through courses I teach, such as cross-cultural philosophy of religion and Asian philosophy, to more specialized classes on classical Hindu texts and an array of Sanskrit studies. As the Coordinator of the Philosophy for Everyone program (P4E), I am devoted to nurturing critical thinking and philosophical discussion from a young age.
My published work includes "Hinduism and Environmental Ethics: Law, Literature, and Philosophy," a book that has sparked conversation among my peers and students alike. Alongside teaching and writing, I am active in shaping the university's future, contributing to several committees, including the University's Numata Advisory Board and serving as an undergraduate advisor. My commitment to educational excellence has also been recognized with a Calgary Institute for the Humanities Resident Fellowship.
Mentoring the next generation of thinkers is one of my key roles, supervising both undergraduate honors and Ph.D. students. If you're curious about the courses I teach, my committee work, or my publications, I invite you to check out my CV.
