Nayibe Bermudez Barrios, Dr.
Phd in Latin-American Literature and Cinema University of Kansas Lawrence, KansasAreas of Research
My research has delved on gender, ethnicity, and class issues in cinemas from Latin America, including Argentina, Colombia, Mexico. I also apply the lens of performance and transnational studies to contemporary cinemas of the Hispanic world. My view on the study of cinema is comprehensive in that it understands cinema as an institution, an art, and an industry. As such, cinema, or rather cinemas, partake of multiple discursive planes and practices, and agents and actors, among other factors.
