Areas of Research

Pediatric Palliative/End of Life Care
Dr. Kate Wong's research focuses on the experiences of children with serious illness and their families in the context of pediatric palliative care, with a particular interest in highlight children's voices in research.
Transitions in Care for Adolescents and Young Adults with Serious Illness
Dr. Wong is currently studying the transition from pediatric to adult palliative care and complex survivorship/prognostic uncertainty for adolescents and young adults with serious neurological, congenital, and chromosomal conditions.
Hermeneutics (Philosophy and Research Methodology)
Trained in hermeneutic research methodologies by Dr. Nancy Moules (first author of Conducting Hermeneutic Research: From Philosophy to Practice) and affiliated with the Canadian Hermeneutic Institute and the North American Society for Philosophical Hermeneutics. Currently conducting research to develop childhood hermeneutics.
