Vice Provost and Dean, Graduate Studies

Dr. Lisa Young has been a professor of political science at the University of Calgary since 1997. She is an accomplished scholar in the area of Canadian politics, with a particular research focus on political parties, election finance and women’s participation in political life.
Lisa is the author of numerous journal articles, book chapters, conference papers and presentations and books, including Money, Politics and Democracy (co-edited with Harold Jansen), Advocacy Groups (with Joanna Everitt) and Feminists and Party Politics.
At the University of Calgary she has been the recipient of a Killam Research Fellowship, the Faculty of Social Science Distinguished Teaching Award, and the Faculty of Social Science Distinguished Researcher Award.
Throughout her career, Lisa has been involved in graduate education as a supervisor, program director, Associate Dean, and now Dean of Graduate Studies.
