I found that our CSC student, Xiaoli Liu, has been an excellent candidate for our doctoral program in Language and Literacy, in the Werklund School of Education. She is an experienced university instructor in China with rich teaching and research experiences.

Xiaoli Liu is going to finish all her required courses for her doctoral program by the end of August (in her first year) and will work on her research proposal next semester. She is also working as a graduate research assistant for me on two research projects. She has assisted me with recruitment of research participants and data collection and has co-presented with me at the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE).

Furthermore, her paper on critical thinking of Chinese students has been accepted for presentation at the World Congress of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES) in Beijing in August 2016. Werklund School of Education has awarded Liu with a graduate travel grant to attend the conference.

I have had a very positive experience of hosting Xiaoli Liu and based on this experience I would recruit CSC students again.
