Recruitment

To support the recruitment efforts of graduate programs in attracting high-quality students

What we help with

The Faculty of Graduate Studies works to attract the best graduate students at home and abroad. We also provide specific supports for the recruitment of sponsored students and doctoral cotutelle students

Outreach

Our recruitment coordinator attends several fairs a year including international fairs. Let us know if you have program-specific materials you would like us to bring.

Sharepoint

Recruitment materials

We have recruitment sheets, pamphlets and powerpoints presentations that we are happy to share with our programs to support their recruitment efforts.

Conversion

After every fair, we connect with eligible students and help them to apply. We pre-screen prospective students and help them find a supervisor. Let us know if you would like access to our list or for us to promote your own recruitment initiatives.

Our recruitment officer also helps cotutelle applicants.

Cost sharing

If your program is doing its own recruitment, let us know where and when you will be going. Check out our database to see if anyone is going to the desired location. You can carpool and/or share pamphlets and booth costs.

Sponsorship agencies

The University of Calgary has partnered with a number of sponsors to support the recruitment of high-achieving graduate students who are funded by their governments to study abroad. These agreements help us attract some of the brightest students from around the world who are also interested in pursuing their graduate research in Canada. Students must apply to the sponsorship agency directly to receive funding. Our recruitment coordinator can help students with the application process.

Here is a summary of the requirements for prospective students to receive sponsorship. Students should confirm the requirements by visiting the agency's website or contacting them directly.
