2020 UCalgary Three Minute Thesis Finals

July 24, 3:00-4:00pm

UCalgary at the 2020 3MT Western Regionals

Sophia Shah, a masters student from Biomedical Engineering will be representing UCalgary at the Western regional 3MT with her talk Epidural fat stem cells: do not discard. The event will be virtually hosted by the University of Alberta on Sept 23rd at 1:00pm.

Tune in and watch seventeen Western universities, represented by their 3MT winners, compete for a spot in the National competition later in the Fall.

UCalgary 3MT finals agenda- lights, cameras, action!

There is lots of fun in store at the UCalgary Three Minute Thesis finals, emceed by the dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies (Dr. Robin Yates) and president of the Graduate Students' Association (Tanille Shandro). Gather your friends and family and see history in the making as we crown our eighth UCalgary 3MT champion and first ever Virtual 3MT winner on July 24th, starting at 3pm MT.

Here are the order of events:

  1. INTRODUCTION: Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and president of the Graduate Students Association
  2. SPECIAL GUEST: Well wishes from UCalgary's President, Dr. Ed McCauley
  3. MEET THE FINALIST (set 1): Get to know each of our UCalgary 3MT finalists as they are interviewed by our emcees.
  4. UCALGARY 3MT FINALIST TALKS:

UCalgary on the national stage

To date, four UCalgary 3MT winners have gone to Canadian Nationals resulting in two national champions and one national People's Choice award winner, making the University of Calgary the most accomplished institution in the history of Canada's 3MT competition.
