What makes Christine and Karen great administrators of our graduate program is their understanding. They understand the rules and can explain them to graduate students and faculty. They are also understanding of the individual situations each of us are in. Thank you, Karen and Christine!

I would like to express gratitude and admiration for all the graduate program administrators who work at Graduate Science Education:
Darlene (Community Health Sciences),
Kiran (Medical Sciences),
Lesley (Neuroscience),
Marion (Biochem & Molecular Biology/Gastrointestinal Sciences/Immunology/Microbiology and Infectious Diseases),
Michelle (Leaders in Medicine),
Sabrina (Biomedical Technology/Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences/Pathologists' Assistant).

Each day, they come to work motivated and ready to help students. They do an enormous amount of work (such as gather applications for admissions and scholarships, set up thesis defenses and candidacy exams, and communicate constantly with students to help them) without breaking down or breaking a sweat.

The service they provide to students is nurturing, helpful, and informative. Without these GPAs, GSE would not be the same.

Thank you very much for all of your efforts and passion! You all make a HUGE difference! :)

I get to work with just about every GPA at one time or another. Sometimes the issues are complex and difficult. This is a group of expert, thoughtful, caring and very hard working people and we can almost always find a way to make the right thing happen!
Every day I also work with the teams of administrators in FGS who have exactly the same attributes! We are so lucky at University of Calgary to have this caliber of staff who come to work every day to help our students navigate their programs successfully - Thank you.

I could write a whole chapter about how amazing Merrit (graduate administrator at the Department of Economics) is. Right from my application through my admission till now, she has been helpful in every way possible. I love how prompt she responds to emails and the diligence with which she does her work. I never miss a notice from the department and I am grateful for that.
I want to take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to you and let you know you are an amazing person. I am very glad to have met you and known you.

I just don't know where to start and where to end this. I just know that whatever happens, I know where to go and find my answers, I know there is support from people who are so busy and still make time for explaining things to me and make my life and my research easy. I have been here for over 6 years and I can say for sure, you guys and girls are amazing. I wish I could write a few more paragraph but still it wouldn't express how much I appreciate what you are doing.

It is my honor to express my appreciation for Carole's administrative work and sincere help. Since my application, Carole had helped me a lot. Her replies were always clear and useful. You can gain the efficient and direct solutions regarding the problems of funding, courses, conferences and even the students' office desk. She is very patient and friendly, which makes you feel comfortable to discuss something with her. In my case, as an international student, her timely and wonderful help brings me the sweet experiences to feel at home in my department. Meanwhile, I think she is a good assistant to our graduate program director, Prof. Srivastava. With both of their fantastic efforts, I feel super lucky to have the chance to study at the University of Calgary. Thank you so much, Carole.

I highly appreciate Suha and Arthur's work and effort to help me dealing with my problems and concerns in school. One great thing about them is they reply emails in less than 24 hours (Usually in less than 2 hours) which is amazing. I can imagine how busy they are dealing with administration day-to-day work; talking to students, as well as non-students seeking admission; attending meetings ... but still replying emails so quick, providing you with the solution or addressing your concerns.
That's a great job.
Thank you so much.

Submitted by Tega on Fri, 02/24/2017 - 12:25pm

Suha & Arthur are simply the greatest!
Starting from when I was seeking admission with the Dept. of Chemical & Petroleum Engineering up until today, they have been amazing and ever ready to address my concerns and questions. From dealing with course registration to addressing why my grade is not showing....and everything in between, they have been present. And so, I'd like to say a thousand thank-yous to them!

Thank you June, Monica and Barbara for being such great administrators in Geomatics Engineering. You are nice, approachable, supportive and patient.

A big thanks to June. You are always ready there to help no matter how trivial the thing is. You helped me stay in the program. You helped me apply scholarship. You helped me get refunded after conferences. You helped me how to wipe out and copy...
Monica's British accent and her laugh live up the department atmosphere. Thanks for your explanation about requirements and details on any activity, and help open the door whenever I lock myself out.
Barbara has the rich experience from industry. She brought new energy to my department.
It is you who make my graduate study wonderful.
